Eagles announced the release of 10 players in their goal to reach 75 by Tuesday afternoon. The team is down to 78 after cutting Eagles TE Derek Carrier, DE Eddie McClam, WR Nick Miller, T Nic Purcell, OL Isaac Remington,TE Will Shaw, DT Daryell Walker, CB Eddie Whitley (waived/injured), LS James Winchester and P Brad Wing.
Eagles need 3 more players to be cut or placed on IR before Tuesday.
Players cut can attempt to make rosters of other teams, and several can be resigned in case of regular season injuries.
Eagles announce later that they are parting ways with Safety Kenny Phillips. While Phillips would be a nice addition to any team, his deteriorating knees did not allow him to get on the field in an Eagles uniform.
Eagles announce that they have released LB Jamar Chaney. While Chaney has not shown much this season, his flexibility in covering various LB positions as well as special teams was thought to keep around until the next wave of cuts.
Best of Luck to all players.
